The Lucca Summer Festival is a musical event that has been held in Lucca during the month of July since 1998.
Concerts are held in the city of Lucca, within the historic walls, in Piazza Napoleone, Piazza San Martino and Piazza dell'Anfiteatro.
They walked the stages of the Lucca Summer Festival bands and soloists of national and international value, such as David Bowie, Bob Dylan, James Brown, Mark Knopfler, Jamiroquai, Seal, Zucchero, Ray Charles, Eric Clapton, Elton John, Anastacia, Giorgia, Green Day, Ennio Morricone and the Rolling Stones. The Dave Matthews Band gave a concert of over three and a half hours on July 5, 2009, the longest performance of their career. The box set "" DMB Europe 2009 "" was taken from that concert.
On 23 September 2017, alongside the City Walls, the historic Rolling Stones concert was held, the only Italian date on the "No Filter" European tour, which set the attendance record (about 55,000 people) for this event.
